Make the most of your valuable time on the water by proactively eliminating potential hiccups.
Anglers put so much thought into what lures to rig up and what tackle we’re going to bring on our next fishing trip, but sometimes we overlook some key items that all of us should keep in our boat. Here are 10 items that I constantly keep on my boat to ensure a fun, safe and problem-free fishing experience.
NO. 1: TROLLING MOTOR BACKUPS
As a bass fisherman, my style of fishing relies completely on my trolling motor. An angler can do everything in their power to make sure batteries are charged and their trolling motor is in top shape, but that all goes out the window once you leave the garage and you’re afloat. To be able to salvage your day of fishing and not be left at the mercy of the wind or current to fish, I always carry a spare prop for my Minn Kota Fortrex trolling motor, along with extra fuses, rope and sheer pins. All of these items are small, but will keep your trolling motor running and you fishing.
